Our topic this half term is Stone Age- to Iron Age our key question is: How did life change between The Neolithic (Stone), Bronze and Iron Ages?

In English the key text this term are: Stone Age Boy and How to wash a Woolly mammoth.

In Science the topic is –Animals, skeletons and movements

Why do we have a skeleton?

  • To know that skeletons protect vital organs
  • To know that skeletons support weight
  • To know that skeletons support movement

Homework

A menu of homework choices (that are cross curricular) will be given out. A minimum of 3 pieces need to be handed in this term. Weekly spellings will be given out to be practiced and will be tested the following Friday. Times tables and related division facts need to be learnt to aid fluency.

Values

The value that we are concentrating on this half term is Self- Regulation. Who will be our champion? We need to continue to demonstrate our other values: Respect, Focus, Boundaries, Resilience and Independence. We are celebrating our in-class achievements using Class Dojo. As a class, we need to work together to achieve our class stars.

PE

Year 3 have  PE sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays. PE kits needs to be in school on these day but it is recommended that it stays in school all week. Correct kit consists of a white t-shirt, black or dark shorts / leggings / jogging bottoms and trainers or plimsolls. Longer hair needs to be tied up and earrings removed or covered.
