Welcome to Woodcroft Primary School – a warm, inclusive and ambitious one-form entry primary school proudly serving our diverse community near Waterlooville.

At Woodcroft, we are driven by a strong moral purpose. We believe that every child deserves the very best opportunities, and this commitment underpins everything we do. With around 65% of our pupils identified as disadvantaged and many having experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), we are deeply focused on ensuring equity, inclusion and success for every child in our care.

We are proud to be a school of choice within the local community, and we are delighted to be oversubscribed for Reception in September 2026. This reflects the confidence that families place in the high-quality education, care and support we provide.

At the heart of Woodcroft is a commitment to nurturing the whole child. As a Thrive-based school, we place wellbeing at the centre of our approach. Our staff are highly skilled in trauma-informed practice and work tirelessly to create a safe, consistent and supportive environment where children feel valued, secure and ready to learn.

Our experienced and dedicated teaching team, alongside our adaptable and skilled support staff, work collaboratively to meet the varied and often complex needs of our pupils. We pride ourselves on a positive, professional culture where staff wellbeing, teamwork and development are highly valued.

We are committed to providing an engaging and enriching curriculum that gives every pupil the opportunity to succeed. All children benefit from regular visits and educational trips, ensuring equality of experience and broadening horizons beyond the classroom.

Our well-attended free breakfast club supports pupils to start the day positively and ready to learn, reflecting our commitment to supporting families and removing barriers to success.

Outdoor learning is a key strength of our school. Our extensive grounds, including a well-established Forest School provision, help children develop confidence, independence and resilience while enhancing their overall wellbeing.

Academically, we are committed to evidence-informed practice. The successful implementation of the Little Wandle phonics programme has led to significant improvements in early reading, demonstrating our focus on continuous improvement and strong outcomes for all pupils.

  • Ensuring all images have descriptive alt text
  • Adding closed captions and transcriptions for video content
  • Adding form labels for all input fields
  • Ensuring all navigation links and buttons are clearly descriptive

Steps We Are Taking:

  • We are actively addressing the areas that currently do not meet the WCAG 2.2 standards
  • We are in the process of implementing tools and features that will make the site more accessible
  • We are working with a developer to make necessary improvements, including creating a high-visibility version of the website for better readability
