2025/2026 so far…..

We were very lucky to have an amazing experience this half term already! The Stone Age Survival workshop-was a hit with all! Andy (the guide) delivered an excellent session teaching children all about the Stone Age and how people were able to survive in pre-historic times! Children had an opportunity to closely explore some artefacts, visualise the time line, learn about gathering supplies to help them survive.

‘The best thing was when we made the fire, I got to use flint and steel to create a spark. Then I had to use my breath to help it start!’- Teddy.

‘I really liked passing the artefacts around, I never held goat’s horn or deer antlers before! The fur pelt felt really soft and we asked Andy why there is orange lines on the inside, he said it was lines on the skin after it was cleaned. I had a really good day!’- Jerogie.

‘I got to be in a drama at the end of the day, I played a bronze maker, I got to trade my bronze for food and pots. I now understand how the village life started. I also enjoyed archery, it was nice pretending to stalk a deer and then shooting the bow and arrow to catch him!’-George.
