Please be aware that P.E. will be on Mondays and Thursdays and we are very lucky to have football coaches and P.E. specialists coming in to run some sessions. Please ensure your child has their P.E. kits in school at all times, so they don't miss out.
Reading, number bonds and times tables practise are very important - please try and encourage your child to do extra work at home, as this will help them progress in school.
This Spring term the children will be learning about Under the Sea creatures. We will create information pages about various creatures. We will use the book Can you Catch a Mermaid in Literacy to create our own mythical creature story. During Mathematics we have been using one is a snail 10 is a crab to think about our number bonds and partitioning. We have also used the context of sharing mermaid and pirate treasure to find fractions of numbers.
Our PSHE theme is good to be me - the children have been working hard to identify what is good about their friends and also themselves. Our RE theme is special, we have started to think about special places and people in our lives. This links nicely with Mothers Day and all of the children said their Mum's were very special to them.
Any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.
Well done to all the children who are logging their reads in their reading diaries as well as proving maths skills at home using their toolkits. Remember you are now all members of sumdog and you can log on at home to practise more mathematics online! Woodcroft has also set a bug club reading challenge, this website has lots of brilliant books that you can access for free at home!
