We hope you have had a lovely Easter holiday and look forward to hearing about what you have been doing!

For the whole of Summer term 1, we will be learning about Commotion in the Ocean!  Our focus books will be 'The Rainbow Fish' and 'The Snail and the Whale.' Our final aim will be to create an under the sea animal factfile. In science we will also continue our study of 'animals' where we will focus on under the sea creatures.

We will also be thinking about transition and moving on to year 2 and welcoming the Year R children during some of our Friday golden playtime.

We will continue to learn phonics each day and be expected to use the sounds in our reading and writing.  We will also keep learning our teddy words and those tricky ones and attempt to spell those words in our independent writing!  As the phonics screening approaches, we will be running a phonics workshop to offer you an insight as to what the process involves. Miss Charlesworth will be working with children throughout the summer term to improve and boost their phonics knowledge.

Our PE day's are now TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY.

Please remove earrings and ensure all PE kit is in school and named.  Please provide tape if you are unable to take your childs earrings out. Unfortunately if your child does not have the correct kit, they will be unable to participate and will watch the session. We will go outside as the weather improves, so please make sure you have suitable clothing and shoes.

We really enjoy seeing photos of your learning from home on Class Dojo.  We will continue to use this to share your child's achievements at school - the children love to talk about their photos.

Thank you for your continued support.
